But it’s the murals that truly tell Corrado’s story—vivid depictions of the prickly pear cactus from his auntie’s home, evoking cherished childhood memories and the flavours of his past.

Our Story
From Construction with a love of Confection
In the bustling world of construction, Corrado is known for his skilful hands and unwavering dedication to whatever he produces. Day in and day out, he builds structures that stand tall and strong layers of concrete and steel. Yet, beneath his hard hat and steel-toed boots lies a sweet dream—one that has lingered since childhood. Corrados love of sweets and cakes and the skill in layering these points him to a new life. And life can be so Sweet! Corrado yearns to create a cozy café and bakery, where specialty cakes and delightful traditional biscuits take centre stage.
With a vision in mind, Corrado embarks on a journey to find the perfect location for his café. After an extensive search, he discovers a charming site that holds the promise of transformation. The legacy started of the site in 1967 by Giovanni & Tina Laiosa running the Monticello Cake Shop successful operating for 58 years. Drawing on his construction expertise, Corrado lovingly restores the space, infusing it with his passion and artistry.
